Created in 2007 in china.
Guitar has 22 frets. Controls his permanent Neck Volume, Bridge volume, neck tone and bridge tone. Furthermore a 3way switch for element selection. The switch is not on the spot like a les paul, but the controls around. The pickup configuration is 2 humbuckers of type S58.
The body is made of Spalted maple, hence the ‘M’ in the name. The normal AF105 (custom) is flamed maple in a natural finish, this is dark and Spolted so. The finish is gloss. This edition is a limited edition. The neck is a 3-piece between the parts with a piece of ebony veneer. The head has on the sides two ‘wings’ there he is so 5 piece. I do not know what kind of wood is the neck. It’s a bit of the color of latte.
For those who have not been doorgescrolled at the photos, it is a fully hollow “jazzbak ‘, but there is no block in a singing bar construction.
The bridge is a TOM on a rosewood base. In the case, a rosewood bridge included, I have not tried. The strings are attached to a rosewood tailpiece with fancy inlays.
The Neck is very comfortable. He is more manageable than the necks of his nephews at epiphone, like joe pass emperor etc. The key is a very smooth piece of rosewood with a sexy triple maple / rosewood binding.
This guitar sounds simply AMAZING! I am completely in love with this guitar. The guitar is not as gescooped if you ever come across in maple hollow bodies. That’s the sound of band connection very beneficial, and provides some more punch. Acoustic sounds he sometimes almost selmer / maccaferi like.
With the neck pickup have a delicious thick, but not dead jazz tone. Warm but not excessively woolly. The bridge pickup I do not use as much, but sounds nice funky as needed. For bright or harsh sounds I pick another guitar.
This guitar is definitely designed for jazz. He does not sound rock and roll like a gretsch. This guitar together with a nice clean tube amp sounds very reminiscent .ADJUSTMENT ETC
Afstellig was straight from the store well. I bought it at Huigens Music in Hengelo. I have wise different experiences in terms of service and quality, but the guitar department has improved since a new employee’s (which I also know well). Downside was that there was a set of 010 round wounds were on, and that’s just not the strings for this guitar. I recommend 012 flat wounds, preferably from Thomastik Infeld. These strings are punchy and warm and bring out the best in the guitar top. Finish is simply perfect. Beautiful inlays, good paintwork etc.
Well, it’s just a more sensitive model than a strat or tele. Only the gold coating on the bridge is a little worn and there are some scratches on the pickguard.
Excellent guitar unimaginable quality. Compared with epiphones, gibsons and other ibanez guitars. Not because of the excellent price-quality ratio, but simply because he is the best, even better than the much more expensive Gibsons.
